What is an Extruder Machine?
An extruder machine is an industrial machine that performs heating, mixing, and shaping processes of plastic raw materials. Basically, it melts granular plastic materials and allows us to continuously obtain output in a specific profile shape.
Basic Components of Extruder Machine
- Feed Hopper: The section where raw material enters the machine
- Screw: The main part that mixes and pushes the material
- Barrel: The cylindrical body where the screw rotates
- Heating Elements: Heat sources that melt the material
- Die: The outlet that gives the final shape to the product
Working Principle
- Feeding: Granular raw material is taken into the machine
- Heating: Material is brought to melting temperature
- Mixing: Rotating screw homogenizes the material
- Compression: Melt is pushed towards the die
- Shaping: Takes its final shape by passing through the die
Applications
- PVC window profile production
- Pipe and profile manufacturing
- Film and sheet production
- Cable coating operations
- Granule production
